JSW Steel Hits Milestone with Possession of 2677.80 Acres for Greenfield Steel Plant in Odisha

JSW Utkal Steel, a Subsidiary of JSW Steel, Gains Control of Forest Land in Rajnagar, Odisha, Advancing Plans for a 13.2 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant

JSW Steel achieves a significant milestone as its subsidiary, JSW Utkal Steel Ltd, secures possession of 2677.80 acres of forest land in Rajnagar, Odisha. The acquisition is a pivotal step in JSW Steel's strategy to establish a greenfield Integrated Steel Plant (ISP) with an annual production capacity of 13.2 million tonnes.

Out of the required 2950.31 acres, 272.51 acres were non-forest land already leased to JSW Utkal Steel. With environmental clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment & Forest and Climate Change, the company is set to commence the estimated Rs. 65,000 crore steel project's phase-wise construction upon formal land handover.
